My goal is to help you re-imagine your life and reconnect with your passion and purpose. Really. I mean it. I was skeptical too, when I first heard about coaching. I was going through the motions of my life as wife, mom, lawyer, business owner, daughter, sister, friend. Spinning all the plates, and holding my breath that they did not come crashing down. All that spinning did not leave a lot of room for joy, rest, gratitude, or self-care. My set point was "overwhelmed" and I was well on my way to burnout by my 50th birthday. Then I found coaching and I changed the way I show up in my own life. Now, I want that transformation for you.
Part of my coaching experience involved getting really clear on my values and then aligning how I spend my time with those values. I know now that my most important value is belonging, the sense of community and connection among family, friends and colleagues. The deeper we know ourselves, the deeper we can connect with others. Coaching can help you get clear on your values and then design your life around them so that you spend your time and energy on things that are truly meaningful to you. How liberating would it be to make decisions in your life by asking yourself whether saying yes or no to an opportunity or request was consistent with your values?
My coaching is based on the fundamental principle that you already have the answers within you to create the boldest and most beautiful life for yourself. You just need someone to create a safe space for you to explore your challenges and to support you in your vision for your future.
Lawyering has been, and always will be, integral to my life purpose. I am a law firm partner and civil trial lawyer dedicated to advocating for the elderly and dependent adults who have been abused or neglected by our broken health care system. I know first hand the toll this profession can take on her mental, physical and pyscho-social well being. We fight for a living. We don the battle armor and enter the arena armed with our client's stories and a unwavering pursuit of justice. And we don't always win (even when we should). And we are not always treated fairly (even though we deserve to be). Our profession can be brutal, despite the lip-service paid to civility. Yet we wake up the next day and pick up the next case and fight again. I know it can be tempting to daydream about quitting this profession and taking up photography or white water rafting or whatever other activity sparks your interest. But when I feel this way, I remind myself that the law is a service profession. People who have been wronged need advocates to hold the systems of power accountable. Where would we be without consumer protection laws and advocacy? So if you need a safe place to explore your relationship to the law, I'm here for you.
